Getting a new engine through warranty!

Just need opinions. My engine was burning too much oil and after about 2000 miles my oil would be gone. I have about 30,000 miles btw. Now I'm supposed to get a new engine through warranty. I'm pissed off because this shouldn't happen to anyone especially if I paid $40,000 for one. But on the other hand that's going to put my miles back to 0. Would you guys be happy? I know theres people that had this same problem so please put any input.

Unless there was any way for the dealer to prove that the mods caused the excess oil burning (which imo, there wasn't), they can't give him **it for the mods.

I'm surprised they didn't void your powertrain warranty for having the UR pullies. The UR crank pulley will certainly cause additional internal resonances and stresses possibly leading to premature wear and oil consumption.

My mods had nothing at all to do with the engine burning too much oil. I just hope this doesn't happen to me again when my warranty is gone. BTW, they didn't even question me about any of my mods. They asked me if I re-flashed my ecu, which I haven't, (YET) and wanted to see some of my oil change records. I should be getting a new engine by the end of this week.

Probably replacing it without drama because the dealership is making a ton of money on labor from Nissan.

Nissan [volume discount in contract] allows fewer hours for the same job [warranty] than the same job under customer pay...............but some revenue is better than no revenue........in the end the technican gets short shafted the most.

If you are BAD, you get all warranty work until you quit.

"Damn not another warranty engine job how can I pay my bills this month the kids won't get any lunch money is the usual techs response as he spits on the old engine".................short cut , after short cut as he tries to get thru to get some real gravy work to make a decent pay check that week.

Why we as an independent shops pay all techs a salary [not the same], less pressure on them to cut corners. All bonuses are based on total hours from all techs combined that way they help each other if they can and self police any slackers that don't get into the program. The real TEAM concept.

Do yourself a favor and find the tech doing your engine swap and slip him some cash BEFORE he starts - $50-$100 should make up for the money he loses doing your swap............this will seem strange to some but your future time [lack of problems] should be worth something............sure they'll fix it again and again and again but you must get it there and deal with the problems.

I'm in sort of a fight with my infiniti dealer at the moment. Bone stock 05 coupe 6 speed (no mods), bought with 9 miles on the car brand spankin new. Broke the car in by the book. Short Block replaced at 12k miles due to excessive oil consumption. 21k miles on my car now. Short Block did nothing to solve my problem. After more official oil consumption tests, the Infiniti Service Manager.. get this.. is trying to tell me that the engine needs to still break in. That it is normal. Kiss my normal ***.

Needless to say, I called Infiniti Consumer Affairs. And they are going through the investigation process about my issue. I'm not going to settle for anything less than a completely new engine at this point. There is a flaw in this VQ engine model. Nissan knows it, but of course wont come clean. Google it.

Ive got to take my car in to get my oil consumption checked out. After roughly 2000 miles, I had to put in an extra 2.5QTs. Major problem
