Rev up Motor, what's the difference

Hey I am new to this forumn and have recently purchased a 2006 Infiniti G35 6MT Coupe.

I have read many threads and have seen the term "rev up motor" being used in reference to the 05/06 motors. I am curious as to what this implies about the motor and how it is different from the previous version. Are there advantages? Disadvantages? Can one motor handle more boost than the other?

I am a mechincal engineer which means I love to understand how things work, so any information on this subject would be extremely appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Sameernof

you can rev higher than us non rev ups. you have an upgrade ecu (or so ive read).

also, rev ups have a intake manifold redesign + internal strengthening + exhaust valve timing to give the revup engine more upper power. yet, they are robbed down low (below 5k rpm)

shorter and larger runners in the upper intake manifold.
variable exhaust cam timing.
better oil pump.
stronger rods bolts.
7200 rpm rev limiter
