timing belt cover?

timing belt cover?

is this it circled in red?how easy or hard is it to remove this cover?

sorry to g352nv..i used his car as an example

It's not easy at all especially with the engine in the car. As you see, various parts of the accessory system must be removed first. I also believe the front oil pan has to be removed too. Then various bolts are removed from the cover and then it must be pryed off because it's affixed with RTV sealant. Reinstallation requires removing all the old RTV, laying down new RTV, new gaskets, and following a very specfic torque sequence with the bolts.

BTW, it's a timing chain cover, not belt.

Are you trying to show off your pretty cam gears? It shouldn't be too hard but I certainly wouldn't recommend it for street driving.

Well, its not a belt, its a chain. With that, I'm not sure (someone correct me, because this is pure speculation) but the chain might possibly need oil to keep it cool. If exposed oil could spray everywhere?

you are right,the chain needs oil for lubrication and cooling.
