Bumping this old thread up. I usually get my oil changed at Nissan and they dont let you watch them work, so I took it to a local shop that I'm cool with. While the oil was draining out, I noticed that there were what appeared to be metal bits coming out with the oil. I've searched on the forum and i found that this could be a major issue. I didnt save any of the old oil though, so a UOA is out of the picture. I also have the same problem at this guy,

Luckily for me, I have an extended warranty. So if theres something major, I'm covered there for a while. Now my question is, what should I do next? Here are my options,

1. Drive the car for another 3-4 thousand miles and check it then.
-The problem with this option is that if theres a problem, i dont want to make it worse.

2. Take it to Infiniti and have them check it immediately.
-I dont know if they'll find anything now since i just changed the oil.

BTW my car is a 2004 G35 Coupe 46,000 miles, no mods at all. Any input from experienced people are welcome. Thanks.

If you have a clanking noise during startup take that into the dealer. Your car should still be under the powertrain warranty...isn't that 6yr 70K miles? Plus you have extended.
