Fumoto Oil Drain Valve - 15% off
Re: Fumoto Oil Drain Valve - 15% off
You are as paranoid as my cousin.
They would have to know that it is there.
It is not easily seen or reached even my looking under the car.
They would have to be a REAL Skinny person or have REAL Long arms that can bend funny.
I have had one on for months w/o a prob.

Tried the plastic bag trick once and it wasn't that easy... in theory it sounds so simple but the execution is tricky, especially if the diffuser is not completely removed. Some have claimed to have just removed a few bolts from the rear part of the diffuser so it sags at the crease to allow access to the oil filter... the fold/crease on my diffuser has metal running along it that keeps it stiff... no folding/bending on mine, it has to come entirely off.
Also, the diffuser will not prevent road debris from hitting the valve ( just went into the garage to check, the diffuser gives quite easily around the drain plug), so being a little paranoid myself, I went nipple-less.

Non-Nipple but as soon as I used it the first time thought that maybe I should have gotten the Nipple.
Re: Fumoto Oil Drain Valve - 15% off
I wouldn't recommend the nipple version. It will slow down the drain time and require using an additional hose all the time.
For those of you that are still concerned regarding the valve accidently opening, you can buy a safety clip for it. I didn't buy it from fumoto or using this 15% off coupon. I bought my setup from http://www.lubespecialist.com/fumoto/main.htm

I don't know.. I try to make it a policy not to deal with any company that spells it as "Infinity."

Re: Fumoto Oil Drain Valve - 15% off
I had the Fram Sure Drain on my Alti and I have to say, it worked great. The flow was just about the same as the fumoto allows... the difference is that the fumoto is just one part, and the SD is the valve, the hose and a valve cap. For those not 100% organized (I kept forgetting where the hose was), the fumoto is the way to go.

I read some ppl had problems with leaking with the Sure Drain. Would you give up your Fumoto and go back, even if you are organized?

Re: Fumoto Oil Drain Valve - 15% off
On my Sequoia, yes, because the drain plug points directly downwards. On the SD, there's an adapter on one end of the hose that screws into the SD valve, you must screw this in with the hose attached... since the valve points straight down, the hose is vertical while you're screwing it in... easy pickings.
On the G, since the valve is at an angle, screwing the adapter in with the hose attached will be a real PITA. So the fumoto is still the way to go on the G.

Re: Fumoto Oil Drain Valve - 15% off
Great, looks like I'll consider the Fumoto. Would you suggest the nipple or non-nipple? Thanks.

Re: Fumoto Oil Drain Valve - 15% off
Non-nipple... only because a hose really isn't required. However, ryoken had a good point, if you change the oil outdoors and it's windy, you will experience extensive spray/splash. So, indoor oil change, non-nipple... outdoors, w/nipple.

Re: Fumoto Oil Drain Valve - 15% off
I figured the nipple and a short tube woud let me drain the oil straight into a bottle rather than a drain pan. Does the nipple valve drain any slower than the non-nipple?
