Loud griding noise at take off when engine is cool. Anyone experiencing this?

I did twice but still haven't figured it out. Lemme know wassup. BTW, I have a 5AT

 

I have 5AT too. I know on my 97 Prelude type-SH (5MT) does it too but not as loud but I usually have my music all the way up so, I didn't notice that until I'm selling the car. But on G35 its very loud to the point I'm paranoid about it. I'll let you know when I got my appointment from the dealer and see what their explanation is?

Does it make the noise once or on all starts from a stop when cold? If once, it is the ABS/VDC system checking itself.

 

Just once whever I let it sit and the engine off for over 2 hr. So, its could be the ABS/VDC. How do you know for sure?

I'd say its the ABS, my car does the same thing after it's been sitting for any extended amount of time. It's in the owners manual as a normal sound to expect. If you don't feel comfortable with it, you can always reproduce it for the dealer and let them reassure you.

Is there kind of a slight "swish" to the sound? That's the only way I can think to describe it. If so, it is definitely the ABS check.
