Do I need new belt?

is my car safe to drive like this? look at the section of the belt i marked in red. i duno if it's normal. help me out. Thanks!

That's not too severe. You can still drive it like that, alot of people drive with cracked belts for thousands of miles and never have a problem, its just a good idea to replace it before it gets any worse.

Cracks are fine and normal. When the ribs start breaking off, that's when it's time to replace.

I myself would just change it. Have you looks at anything that could gave it those tears ??? Have you check all you pulleys ???

It should be fine as long as little chunks of the ribs aren't missing.

General rule of thumb is for every inch of belt you should have no more then 2-3 cracks.This is what the belt manufactures say.I am in the auto repair bus and i wouldnt replace that one yet...but i would check it once every 2-3 weeks.

How about mine...

My G has nearly 50K on it. The dealer said I needed a new belt. The earliest I can go is this weekend. Does it look that bad that the car won't make it till then or will it be allright for a few more days.

Sorry for the crappy pics. My phone is my only camera.
