Question Why i cant get a MREV2

I was talkin' to my auto guy and told him to get me a 1/2" spacer and the MREV2 down runners. He said he made a few calls and he got some important info. I have an '03 AT coupe with an ATI supercharger + DC headers + cat-less pipes + HKS exhaust and thought that this combo of the 1/2" spacer and MREV2 would be a nice addition to the amount of power and growl the car puts out. My guy tells me that I should get only the 1/2" spacer and no MREV2. He claims that he was told the MREV2 doesnt put out that kind of good power for its price on an older G. Is he right? Or am i being b.s.ed? Anyone on the forum that has an '03 or '04 coupe with a supercharger and spacer + Mrev2 combo that can verify gains?? Thanks...

hes right, you need the 298hp 7000rpm redline version of the engine in 05,06,07 to really take advantage of MREV2. That engine is only available on 6spd manual models

MREV:

The Motordyne MREV high-torque plenum mod designed specifically for the VQ "REVUP" engine. This is the engine in all 2005 MT G35's and Track/Anniversary edition 350Z's and all 2006 MT 350Z's and G35's. In addition to a throatier growl, tests show MREV adds 15+ HP and 19+ TQ at 4500 RPM. Although the peak HP is typically reduced by 2.5 HP the power band is greatly expanded. MREV is quite possibly the most effective NA engine modification available for the VQ REVUP engine.

The Motordyne MREV 2 Iso Thermal! A universal stealth mod for use on any 350Z, G35, M35 and FX 35. When used with or without a spacer or aftermarket plenum, this modified lower collector will make substantial power gains.

Multiple independent test show when used with a 5/16" spacer on the REVUP engine, the combination will add a "minimum" of 15+ HP and 18+ TQ in the upper midrange. Many independent MREV REVUP tests have dynod in excess of 20HP and 30 TQ in the upper midrange and with high RPM peak power increased by 3-5 HP.

On the road course or drag strip this lower collector adds substantial HP and TQ. No other normally aspirated VQ modification provides as much gains as MREV2!

Note: A $122 core exchange rebate is available for those of you with non-REVUP lower collectors. Contact us for more information.

You CAN realize gains IF you have the ability to tune (UTEC etc). If you do both, you will run lean. Since your FI I presume you have some kind of aftermarket ECU or reflash. You will run leaner w/ these two mods together, so you need to add fuel back to realize the gains.

What is this about a core exchange for the lower collector? Is there more that I can do for the plenum in my 03 6mt non-rev other than just getting a spacer? For the most part from what I understand, with non rev-up engines, there is no other significant gains other than just getting a spacer for the upper plenum. Is this ultimately true?

Sorry if I seem to be thread jacking. I just need to know!

Because your looking at it from, the more air i cram in there, the more power I'll have. The truth is, there is a point in every car (because of the heads) that more flow will actually HURT performance. On a non rev-up, I wouldnt bother with the mrev-2. Its designed for a motor that can accept more flow before loosing power.
