Just get in some octane booster in and call it good.

Over the counter octane boosters [those that do anything at all] contain manganese that fouls the plugs and adds deposits to combustion chamber.

You would need 2-3 gallons of the OB to accomplish the 6 rise.
The points the OB refers to are 0.1 units not 1.0 units

Thanks Q45tech,

I didnt want to make the problem worse by going against the owners manual ... states no aftermarket fuel additives.

Havent heard back from wawa yet, just going to drive it under 3k, no rabbit starts and fill up with premium when i use 5 gal or so.

true. I forgot about that.
next best thing is using 4:1 - Gas:Xylene. For every gallon of xyline, you need 1oz. of Marvel Mystery oil.

it's just some homebrewing stuff I learned when I had my t-type. Not as good as race gas, but enough to get by.

The major difference between regular and premium is the amount of detergent additives found in premium..........octane is a minor consideration except that a the KS system retards the base timing the engine efficiency goes way down and mpg drop progressively. Peak Power is reduced by 2-3% with regular.

20 cents per gallon premium is a tiny price to pay to get the extra detergent additives with out resorting to Techron [$7 per tankful] or BG44k at $15 which is enough to treat 3-4 tankfuls.
