a code reader, what is that to begin with. could it be that i am letting off to many emissions after a few runs. i do have an aftermarket exhaust and intake.

It may be that the revs get to high and the fuel cut off is kicking in.Im not sure on that....but Ive heard that fuel cuts off if you go to far beyone red line to far .Post if you find out

vgrani1g35, Here's a pic (pardon the poor lighting it's supper time) of my OBD-II code reader I purchased at my local parts store for about $150 Canadian ($100 US).
It scans the memory of your vehicle's ECU to obtain trouble codes that are triggered by a malfunction.
It's a very useful tool in determining what a problem is and in resetting the ECU "check engine" light, which sometimes can be triggered very mysteriously and be very bothersome.
Your dealer would use a tool called the "Consult II" decoder and scanner which is way more comprehensive (and expensive) than this one, but he may charge up to $100 to scan your vehicle (for non warranty work).
It's easy to use and comprehend and a very worthwhile tool in my toolbox.
