I changed the original oil at 500 miles and used a Bosch filter. Then I switched to Mobil 1 at 1900 miles again with a Bosch filter. I then ran right at 5000 miles before changing it. Will use Bosch filters till the end.

Mobile One with Purolator Pure One. I change it once a year (about 2,000 miles).

new Honda oil filters are made by FRAM, and have similar construction to the OEM nissan filters, try and pick up the s2k filters at least if you are going to go honda, I believe those are still made in japan

Thats good to know. I used to think Honda filters were the one of the best, I'll if the S2k ones fit on my next change - I dont see why it shouldnt.

I wanted to pick up two of those reuseable filters from hop-up racing because I have the same type of filters for my bike. That way I dont have to wait for drying time when I change oil while cleaning out the filter. seems like a waste of money....but it kinda pays for itself in the long run (if you buy just one). I Change oil kind of excessivly...about every 2000-2500, I have just made over 50k on the car.

Sheesh, this thread is making my head spin. If you want information based on empirical evidence rather than conjecture, head over to bobistheoilguy.com and read the used oil analysis postings there.

I use 6.5 qts because of the JWT spacer and Greddy oil pan.

also synthetic oils are good for 7-10k, those still changing at 3000 miles are living in the stone ages. Even your plain old Dino oil these days can go 5k.

What I know ......

Read several technical articles but I can't quote a lot of facts so I'll be brief.
1. Fram oil filters suck.
2. Purolator Pure 1's v. highly rated (and inexpensive too)
3. Oil ? Beats me. Seems like a lot of diffrent opinions. I will say I'm gonna dump the Mobil 1 after reading that it's no longer synthetic. Got it in my Daytona too, bye-bye!

Just for reference, remember Mobil 1 is not actually a fully synthetic PAO base oil, and it does have a high NOAK volatility.

Just thought I'd bring that up. Just remember to check your oil levels if you're going 5000 miles on Mobil, cuz it will drop due to the volatility

blah, blah, blah. I use Mobil 1 for many many years and have had NOTHING but great results from it. Along with a Mobil 1 oil filter your car will be HAPPY BITCHES!!!!

NO rumor, the analysis show it. There's an oil analysis thread on here look it up, plus i have first hand experience with its volatility ruining a couple engines. One was a fully built H22, the oil vaporized so quickly it threw a rod in the 1st 1500 miles. It didn't puncture the block, but the rod was a mess. When i checked the level, there was hardly any oil left. ANother was a brand new CRV, it would drop 1 quart every 1000 miles!
