This was your Stillen Cold Air Intake. This happened to me several times with my Injen Cold Air Intake. Not a good situation, is it.

I've read stories like this many times in the short time that I've been a member of G35Driver. The thought that my car could shut off while driving while on the highway or on an entry/exit ramp (as other members have reported has happened to them) scares the crap out of me.
i have NO plans for a CAI in the near future.

Did your car actually 'die', or did it go into a 'limp mode' (e.g. running but hardly any power, all your lights in the dash came on)? The 'limp mode' thing happened to me a few weeks ago, I thought the car died, all my lights came on but when I tried to re-start I realized it was actually still running. I had to pull over, turn it off, let it sit then re-start. It drove fine after that but the CEL stayed on. I took it in and had the throttle body replaced (like others here have suggested). It's a fairly well-known issue, if that's what happened to you.

yeah, I would definitely say it couldn't be because of a CAI or short ram intake. Would that make any sense whatsoever?

no, didn't think so!!!

what!!! Flooding the engine? The cold air is better and puts in denser air (cold air!) (not taking air away) for your car, uggghhhh this really doesn't make sense.
