ask me what, what about it? I know that a lot of them have the problem, and the dealer makes me think they are well aware of the issue.. they did an oil change and told me not to touch dipstick, oilfilter, drainplug, oilfiller cap etc, they marked everything off... I am supposed to drive ~1000mi and they are going to check it all out... I'm a bit skeptical they are going to actually do anything but we'll see.

Sounds like an exhaust leak. Check it closely by putting the vehicle in the air on a lift with the engine running and looking closely at the exhaust system.

By your description, no. Sounds like normal residue found in the exhaust system from the process of combustion.

Might be a thought to look for another car that doesn't have an established track record of engine problems?

+10 lol
Read so many ppl saying its only due to oil consumption.
Go look at other vehicles and you'll see black soot in the tail pipe tips too that don't consume oil...lol

BTW...Amsoil FTW!! Running in all drivetrain components and engine

If you peruse this web site, you will find many posts regarding the topic of very high oil consumption with these engines, engines being replaced, etc.

for those that have had their engines replaced, what is standard procedures by dealership? For testing and determining if its bad etc. And if they try to put it past me that there is infact not a problem what arguments do I have, and what means do I have to pursue further.
