Is a 400-500 hp all motor G35 possible?

Hello G35 drivers I am new to G35's and am trying to learn as much as I can about them and the potential hp that can be made on all motor of course built but with no power adders, is it possible to achieve 400- 500 streetable hp on just the motor alone if so led me in the right direction of some ideal combos. Thanks for any help

Maybe with a 4.2 stroker kit and every other mod you might get into the >400whp range.

this is how much work was needed to get ~300whp. my350z.com 15.1cr all motor project you can decide if 400whp is achievable

a stroked motor with itb's would be possible. There are a couple of tuning companies including Top Secret that have 400 hp all motor VQ35's

For 400 hp all motor, get ready to spend more money than the actual car. It's never been done, and Audible Mayham has an all motor VQ at around 315 rwhp, with alot of work done to it.

So from all the replys it seems the only way to go with these motors is a power adder to achieve 400-500hp. If I couldn't go all motor the second opition was a procharger, What do you think? I'm just trying to get any help and thoughts that can help, I'm use to 5.0's easy bolt ons that get you 400-500hp N.A. and 500-900hp power added.

This isn't a 5.0...first that's a V8, and one that the aftermarket has had time to develop goodies for. The Infiniti G35 is a more refined car....(read more expensive). Any add-ons will be expensive.

The VQ35 is a terrific engine, but not a brute HP beast. Once you pass the 400HP mark, the cost goes up exponentially. Your best bet, unless you have an unlimited budget, is to go FI/exhaust mods. Stillen makes a great SC, but its a roots type requiring the hood to be replaced, or a cowl added. I like the procharger too, but not many people run it.

If you want 400-500whp go Twin turbo and call it done.

Yeah I know about 5.0's I own one........... You would have thought the aftermarket would be loaded with parts for g35's they have been out since 2003 and are very popular over saturated cars. Roots blowers are okay but I think I would rather have a intrcooled centrifical blower instead. Thanks for your reply

The early 5.0 motors were only putting out 220hp? Very restricted.

The new 3.5VQ is putting out nearly 300hp from 1.5 less liters. Because these engines are much more efficent, you won't pull alot of additional hp out of them.

The only other modern na engines that seem to respond well to mods is the LS Chevy motor, Chrysler Hemi and the Ford V8. But I'm thinking these are detuned to a point also. And the aftermarket is finding the hp they should have. But alot of the hp from these engines are coming from cams. LS and Hemi cam swaps are relatively easy. For the overhead cammed motors, it gets expensive.

Here's a thread for the VQ in a 32 model Skyline. It pulls out 354 hp, which would be around 400 hp to the crank more than likely.

http://www.gulfgt.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23597

Also Tommy Kaira has an all motor 350Z with ITB's that is making 400 hp as well. Once again it's not impossible to get 400 hp NA out of the VQ but it is costly. The TS itb setup is 6k alone and the Tommy Kaira (last I heard) hasn't been released yet.
