engine bogging down after spacer and pop charger install??

i noticed since i installed the motordyne 5/16" spacer and jwt pop charger yesterday that when im driving normally and depress the clutch pedal to slow down, the tach goes all the way down to about 300-400, the engine bogs slightly, then immediately raises back up to the normal 600 or so level. has anyone else experienced this after making these installs??

Be sure to check that everything was reinstalled and tightened properly. You may have a vacuum leak. I have had no issues with your said mods.

everything was definitely reinstalled correctly, i didnt have a inch/lbs torque wrench, so i used a nut driver with a 10mm socket on it like few other ppl on here stated they used. maybe ill just try to retighten them.

just went outside and rechecked the tightness on all the bolts, they all had loosed up noticebly since yesterday. i tightened them back up with the nut driver again. does it take a couple days for it to seal up properly where i wont have to keep retightening them?

The 2nd retorque should be good enough. Has the idle improved?

The rpm drop tells me you've got a slight vacuum leak somewhere. You should really invest in a inch/lb torque wrench. I think MD's recommendation is 70 inch/lbs, but I found that 100 in/lbs is needed for the 6 center bolts. 70-80 inch/lbs wouldn't hold after 5 heat cycles. You really need an inch/lbs torque wrench to do this the right way because you risk snapping the soft manifold bolts.

yeah, the bogging problem is fixed. in addition to retightening the bolts, i also cleaned my TB and MAF. actually, the motordyne manual states a nut driver is ok to use since the most force you can put on that with 1 hand is about 100 inch/lbs....but i agree i need to find a inch/lb torque wrench, im just not sure where to get one.
