styrofoam block
Hey guys!
I was curious as to whether any of you are removing the block from your front bumper to make way for the intake. I had kept mine in there to block any water from entering in. I know it sounds lame, but Im a paranoid freak. Have any of you removed it and noticed any gains ? I've heard that keeping the block in there can detract from your car's performance ?

Re: styrofoam block
Which intake did you put in? I removed a section of mine for the Nismo cai. It has the bypass so I'm not worried about the water issue.

Yep, I cut part of mine away on that side. I have the Nismo intake, so hydrolocking isn't a concern.

Re: styrofoam block
Their was no way I was going to do a CAI install and let wind driven rain soak the filter, so I did not chuck the foam like Injen says to, I modified it as seen in the pic below, nor did I remove that plastic panel. The size of the opening I have is plenty to suppy the fenderwell with air. Plus I sealed off the area where the pipe ducts into the fenderwell from the engine bay, even so, it's not possible to pressurise the fenderwell in a meaningfull way, it's simply not sealed for that.
