I recently had my Vortech installed (4 weeks ago)and everything went fine except for the piggy back controller which was bad and replaced by Vortech no questions asked. I have a triple gauge setup...oil pressure, fuel pressure and boost, and all the readings are normal. Yesterday while driving my car, the sound of the S/C changed noticeably to a very loud whine while at idle.By loud I mean I could barely stand next to the car with the hood open without plugging my ears!! I immediately took the car home and feared the gearing was going bad. I checked oil levels and the oil line installations, and everything was tight and intact (no kinks!)The S/C felt abnormally hot so I removed the cog belt to avoid further potential damage. The unit is still under warranty, but I'm still worried about the Vortech as a reliable unit since the unit is relatively new, and I really don't push the car.Has anyone had a similar problem with the Vortech??

 

I don't know to much about the Vortechs problem but PM 617G. He had the Vortech setup in his G.

 

Mine has been strong and problem free for about 15K iles...sounds like the bearings may be going...call Vortech ASAP.

It could also be a pulley issue.
