The 0-40 Mobil seems interesting as it seems to flow more like a 30 w. Also the Penzoil platnium seems good. It was about $20.xx for a 5 qt jug. I think that was the normal price.

I didn't notice if the 0w 40 was on sale though
i checked 2 local walmarts and neither carried 0w-40 in jugs or individuals. just curious if anyone has it available at their wally world. advance auto's site, partsamerica has them for 5.89 a quart then $5 off your total order if you pickup in store at either advance or kragen, just fyi.

Here's the link to the entire thread: http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=258663

As for no remaining stock of German Castrol, I just picked up 10 qts at my local Autozone. They had at least 15 more on the shelf, and the other AZ in my town has just as many left. I posted a thread asking if anybody wanted me to pick some up for them a couple of weeks ago.
They are all out in the PNW area at all the autozones I checked, and a majority of the people at BITOG have reported similar results around the country. If you still have some left at your local AZ, pick it up now! Get the rest of the old stock AMSOIL TSO 0w-30 also while you are at it if your local stores sell it!

Interesting.
LOL, you again. Please stop trolling this board. Go back and read the original thread, Jeff and I were both in agreement that we weren't disputing the merit of mobil 1 as oil, but rather about their deceptive marketing techniques.

"LOL, you again"? How damned rude!

Mr.Jeff made a HUGE issue regarding M1, saying it wasn't as good as it used to be, blah, blah, blah.

But I'm not going through that BS again.

Why bother? Castrol is so, "proud", of this oil, they wont even release to the public the results of standard oil industry test results, that virtually all other oil companies do! No data available from Castrol for the standard industry test results for their oils TBN, Viscosity Index, HT/HS, Noack Volatility, etc. Castrol claims this information, (that demonstrates the true performance of their products), is, "proprietary". Interesting, when virtually every motor oil company in the world will gladly provide this information!

I agree with you that the AMSOIL 0W-30 is a superior product, but why would you specifically recommend, "old stock"?

Link? Proof??? Provide it and I'll concede. But I never said anything to that. Only that Mobil 1 is no longer 100% Group IV. It's mostly Group III. Something you 100% deny but yet do not provide any proof. I've provided more than a few links + an email reply DIRECTLY from Mobil 1 on this issue.

So

You would think that a dealer would know when their product is changed, The new tso 0w-30 is a very thin 30wt, and it actually classified as a 20wt by Blackstone. The new additive package is nice, but until some UOA's on the new stuff come out, I'd be weary to use it. The VQ motors usually don't do well with a thinner oil.

You think you would actually receive a reply? Much less an accurate one? Given the blatent lie posted above? Don't hold your breath.
