NEED A Quick REPLY

Im going to the track today and just to get a little bit of power i took out my stock air filter. will i be ok as long as nothing gets in the engine

i just tried the Sock. it seemed like a good idea but i guess my socks are to thick, the engine almost stalled. i am just going to take of the "power box" when i get to the track

Trust me. You don't want to do that. If your car is an 05 or 06, leave the stock air box in place, just buy a K&N drop-in filter that will last you for ever.
I recently switched back to the stock air box from a JWT pop-charger, and gained 1.5 MPH in the 1/8 mile. Right now, I have the stock air box with the K&N filter and removed the resonator at the bottom of the box.

The thing is, it heat soaks and it doesn't provide the ram air effect that the stock air box does. Does your stock box have a velocity stack?
