HELP: Popcharger Heatshield Trim
Gah I'm so frustrated, i just took apart my intake to my car following following these instructions:
http://www.imagestation.com/album/pi...87496321&idx=1
And the heatsheild trim instructions are VERY vague:
http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchan...G353-1XCN8.pdf
I need help with the long peice of trim that folds over itself, mine (every way i put it) seems to be backwards.
Please help if you have any knowledge on this sort of thing.

Parts Started with (minus the hinges, one of the flaps is already on):

Trim peice which wouldn't cooperate:

Diff angle (before applying rest of trim):

After:

I reallllly think i did NOT do this right, heres what it should look like. (NOT MY PICTURES)

And thats about as specific i can get...

oh and if you didnt notice, his flaps are angled inwards, mine are outwards (which i'm pretty sure is wrong) but i cant reverse it because the sections within that one piece of trim are supposed to be the size of the section of heatshield

well thanks for the help
I'm pretty sure its a factory defect and I've emailed EverythingG35.com and asked them to ship me the correct piece of trim...
hopefully this will help another member if they come across the same problem.

one trim piece (the top piece next to the sticker) i got was facing the wrong way no matter which side it i turned it to as well. i simply folded it the way i wanted it to go and closed the hood on it. came back after a day and the piece had cooperated.

thanks for the input but i'm talking about the one that runs along the side of it in sections, I'm considering cutting it to make it work but hopefuly the vendor will help me by sending me a new one.
That's the correct part. Sometimes you just have to wrestle with the trim to get it into place so the cuts on the seal line up better with the bends on the heat shield. The flaps will settle into place better over time as well.
