I need Help!!!! my g acting weird..

Whats up! I need help on figuring out what is wrong w/ my car. Im not a technical expert or anything...i just ride my g and im happy w/ it, but lately when i drive my car as I shift gears...it remains as if it gets stuck on idle right before it changes. im not so sure how to best explain it...i guess to best describe it...its as if im riding on the clutch every time i shift gears. Does anyone know what it could be..is it that I need a new clutch???? I just recently changed my oil...and i even boutch a fuel system cleaner. please help! Thanks in advance!

huh?... you changed the oil and it feels like you are riding the clutch... do I have your question right?

Maybe you are riding the clutch?... not sure but it seems like that could be at least part of the problem.

I’m no expert but I really don’t think another oil change is necessary... someone else may have an opinion?

okay that was a little too blatant... what is your car doing wrong? > that you are not a part of?...

Thanks for the response. I only mentioned the oil change b/c it had been a good while, approximately 10k miles, since i had been due for an oil change....and that's when it started acting funny...and so i was thinking maybe that was the problem. So a week later thats when I went ahead and changed my oil. I just dont want to take it to dealership b/c last time i took it there they scratched all of my 4 rims..and when i complained they did nothing about it. So im ticked off at them, and its the only infiniti dealership in orlando.

But i think its my transmission. And i know im not part of the problem...ive had my car for almost 3 yrs now and its just now that its not driving like it used to. its an '04 w/ 45k miles on it.

I just wanted to get suggestions on what it may be and why its acting like that. Thanks again!

"my car for almost 3 yrs now and its just now that its not driving like it used to. its an '04 w/ 45k miles on it".

Well if you are not exceeding the minimal published fluid/filter change requirements these things happen as you destroy your ride.

Rubber isolated components age and change compliance.

I know of no vehicle with 45k that performs/rides as well as a brand new one without replacing significant wear parts. The parts haven't failed just not as brand new.

Infiniti's should visit the dealer every 90 days for oil changes so that the technicans can look AND FIND Warranty work to charge Nissan for repairs.

Obviously some wheels mean more than the vehicle as a whole to you.

Wow! You hadn't changed your oil in over 10K miles? I hope that was a typo and you meant 1K miles....Anyway, sounds like your clutch is slipping, though your description of the problem isn't very clear. Do you mean you shift gear, step on the gas, and it revs before actually catching the gear and moving? Then that would be a slipping clutch--time to replace it soon. And it's not covered under warranty.

Perhaps it's your clutch. Is it slipping? 10K miles is not that uncommon for an oil change, especially with full synthetic and advanced oil filters. I ran mine for 21K before doing a full oil change. At 12,500 miles on the oil, I changed the filter and added a quart of oil per Amsoil suggestion. Engine runs beautifully and I've had no problems.

assuming from the responses i guess it is my cluth that is slipping, as some of you mentioned. So i have no choice but to take it to the dealer and have them check on it, and anything else that needs repair. thank you all for your response...now i know something new, and hopefully my car will be fixed and running like it used to. thanks!

I'm new to the g35 scene but have extensive experience with cars in general etc...

1) Does it seem like somtimes with foot completely off clutch pedal you can give it gas and the engine revs up but doesnt actually pull the car at all (eg, act like the clutch is in a bit when its not?)

2) 10kmi is in my opinion not great... I mean theoretically the way they build engines these days its possible, however the vq's have known to had excessive oil consumption problems (in the tune of ~1qt every 1000mi) At that rate 5kmi and you'd be empty assuming you didnt add any back.

3) While dealership might be best choice atm, I dont think your question or description of symptoms was even close to what you'd need to know to troubleshoot further.
