engine idle is messed up

i just installed a skunk2 plenum spacer but the engine idle is really wierd. is it normal to go down about 100-200 rpms? and sometimes when the car is just sitting there in idle it goes down to like 500 sort of studders and goes back up

does anyone know whats going on?

I have a MD spacer, but I'm sure it's not that different. I would definitely check if all the hoses are sealed tight. I had that same problem after my 1st install. Codeflux pretty much covered it all. Make sure you do the ecu reset, my idle went back to normal after the reset.

I would definetly be worried about something like that. Hopefully some of the other guys using the skunk2 spacer will tune in and give some advise

i installed a APS tall boy plenum on my 04 coupe.. it was supplied with 4 10m bolts.. the stock plenum has 6 bolts that go through to the lower plenum to secure it.. i wasnt pay attention and realize that the 4 bolts supplie with the new plenum were to cover the 4 bolts that go through to the bottom.. i experienced the same problem you r.. make sure the holes are covered with the supplied screws

isnt there a nipple with a plastic cover on it? somewhere on the plenum, not the spacer... maybe that nlack plastic/rubber nipple cover fell off? Engine coolant will not mess up your idle. you definitly have a leak somewhere (from what it sounds like)... you can also use propane gas... connect the tank with a hose and turn it on slowly... if you have a leak, it will pull the propane gas in the spacer, and make ur engine run smoothER. so that way, you know where the leak is.

do a vacuum test, or use an automotive stethoscope...our engines make a hissing sound normally so you might not have a leak...i think it might have

something to do with your throttle body...my guess is that your TB got out of whack (sometimes happens when you disconnect the wiring/touch the

butterfly)...return it to stock to see if it still does it...if it returns to normal you probably missed a step during your install...if it still does it after you

return it to stock take it to the dealer...if you still have your warranty they'll recalibrate it for free...oh yea also try the motordyne reset procedure that

OCG35 posted...it'll take a few trys to be able to do the idle air volume learning procedure but don't give up...

I did the relearning proceduce but the check engine light is not blinking so I guess you need like a special tool to make the check engine light blinking? my idle is normal but check engine light keep come on with the same code P-0507 air idle is (too high).
