Don't worry about time unless it's over a year.

SAY WHAT...the warranty document specifically requires that you must change the oil at no longer than 180 day/7500 mile intervals for the warranty to remain in effect..........you must have written legal proof [vin, date, mileage business signature] not just some receipt for oil purchases.

The sump is so very small compared to BMW/MB for same displacement/power, one has to be careful if longevity is any concern. But many don't care what happens after 150k

i would go with miles, not time. i am in the same position. 5 months and at 2980 miles. going to wait until 3750 miles.

engines are made so much better now that oil changes could be less frequent than an engine made in the 80s.

I change my oil every 2000-2500 miles regardless of what oil I use.

Do as you please. A lot of cars nowadays with oil life monitors go well beyond 3000 miles, but goes on to state that if the oil hasn't been changed within a year, then to change it. There's nothing magical about the 180 day rule, just profit for the dealer.

I assume you are FI'd. But if you're willing to spend that much $ on oil/filters, I'd suggest getting a Blackstone Labs report to see what your oil is REALLY doing. It's only like $20

If you're car is a daily driver and does not see the track regularly, changing out your oil at less than 3k miles is imo overkill and unecessarily harmful to the environment.

Obviously if you track your car a lot, frequent oil changes are a must.

I would just change it around 3-5k miles depending on how hard you drive the car. I also recommend AMSOil. It's a bit pricey but well worth it IMO. Filter I would just go with K&N Gold.

The dealer doesn't have anything to do with what is written in your Nissan Warranty CONTRACT!

Do as you please but if you exceed 180 documented days Nissan has every right and a duty to it's stockholders to void your engine warranty.

Why should they WASTE stockholders money on some customer who doesn't follow written rules.
