regarding the GST

I had the same car and I must say wow that sounds awful...... I notice your stock boost gauge is not even moving. Im thinking that the ecu is killing your engine because the ecu isnt getting the correct reading or you have major airleak after the turbo before the TB.

YOu mean the greddy gauge on the left hand side? THat's an oil pressure gauge that's not hooked up yet. The motor is cammed with Brian Crower 280's so that's the roughness and I have an open downpipe so its extremely crude sounding right now. Also, the lifters are 13yrs old and they need replacing. However, you can't hear them clacking unless you stand under the hood.

I know what your saying about the lifters my GST did the same thing. Wow an open downpipe! NICE! I was looking at the stock gauge for boost in the instrument cluster. The needle doesn't move in your video. maybe your blowoff valve is opened too far. Can you close it a little, maybe then the engine wont die. I'm just trying to help.

I'll look into the whole boost gauge not working right thing. The open downpipe is only temporary until I can get underneath and fabricate a midpipe. I didn't think the lifters would make so much noise but I already found a set on ebay for cheap so I'll be swapping them out as soon as they come in.

Hey man, your input is always welcome.

if you are using the stock dual solenoid boost controller, take it out and look at the bottom tip >> F << the top one I will refer to as #1 and the second one down # 2. Anyhow the #2 has a little reducer you can take out with a paper clip. Removing this will allow the 4G63 to run at 7 psi of boost low and 15 psi boost at WOT. Not bad for a beater huh? Oh the solenoid is located on the pasenger side across from the T25 turbo.

First, this V8 project is quite a feat. I can't wait to see results.

Don't mind that the factory boost gauge on the DSM dosen't move around with no load on the engine. It's motion is controlled by a load/airflow based formula in the ECU and has no relation to actual manifold pressure.

Looks just like mine.

The rattle at idle out of mine is the Dogbox though, not the lifters. Oh and if you're quick enough to catch it, you'll notice the same throttlebody that you are using on your V8.
