Having problem getting my car into reverse (04 6MT).

It just started a couple of days ago...... When it happens, I have to press the clutch pedal several times (all the way to the floor sometime) til soon or later it goes into reverse....... I do not have problems with my other gears..... Could it be my clutch? But why would all of my other gears seem to work if it is my clutch? Any help would be appreciated......

Greg

my 02 sentra ser did that. I found that:
releasing the pedal in neutral
Depressing and the pedal and sliding it into first and trying to slightly roll the car an inch forward before trying reverse works

also if you want the shorter route(which may cause a nasty noise if your not smooth with it),
while trying to get it into reverse begin to release the clutch pedal slowly so the clutch just barely catches the flywheel.......it will allow the tranny to get some slight movement to let the gears mesh.....it will slide right in.

yah that happens to me in my 04 6mt too. Usually the shifting it into other gears works for me without the rolling anywhere.

Did you forget to push the stick shift all the way down before shifting into rev?? Did you press the brake all the way??? If so and you are still w/in warranty, go get it checked out @ the dealership

I had a similar problem with my 05 6MT Sedan. It was on occasion and I would never know when it would work. I also noticed problems with 5th and 6th gears also. A few times I could not go beyond 4th gear. Dealer made an adjustment but two weeks later the same thing. Finally the transmission was replaced, still under warranty. Problem fixed…now 15k miles later a new problem. When cold the car sounds like an old diesel car. Sound coming from the transmission and stops when I press the clutch.
