Larger Oil Filter, Why Not????

Ok, why the hell didn't Infiniti or Nissan go with a larger oil filter? This has got to be the smallest one for 3.5L I have ever seen. Is there something here that I am not grasping? I've owned 2.0Ls that came with larger filters than this. I researched on here and the internet about going with a larger filter, and the consensus was that it didn't hurt and would provide better filtering capacity. I had been using the mobile 1 M108, but recently switched to the to the M1-110. They have the same diameter, only the 110 is 1/4 longer. So what I want to know is..... why the hell not???

You can get a bigger filter if you want, but the automotive scientists at Infiniti have determined that the filter designed for the G is a big as necessary to keep the oil clean for the established maintenance interval. Bigger is not necessary in this case.
