2004 AT Sedan ECU Reset

Anyone confimed doing this via the pedal method? I have tried a few times, the battery disconnect does work. I can't get the pedal thing to work. I never get the flashing indicator.

Thanks!
Worth

Use a watch with a second hand and keep on trying.

What does resetting the ECU do, if you havent done any mods?
How do you perform the pedal method?

It returns the learning algorithm to the agressive mode, especially
after you have been grannying it for awhile. The car returns to the
"Bat Outa Hell" mode. It really makes a difference!

Re: 2004 AT Sedan ECU Reset

Timing is very important Worth, I've got a 2004 coupe, and after break in i reset the ECU on the 2nd try. I played alot of video games when I was a kid..so throwing down my foot a few times isn't that bad. Just keep trying, if u get realy frustrated just disconnect the battery IMO.

Re: 2004 AT Sedan ECU Reset

i bet i know where the problem is

It is in the "press the gas pedal 5 times in under 5 secs". What the guide should say is "press the gas pedal once every second for 5 seconds". So, do not go bam.bam.bam.bam.bam in 2-3 seconds. Do bam,banana-bam,banana, get it??? I am sure that i would have been able to describe this better if it weren't 2 am and I wasn't dead tired. But, since i got the routing down, I can do it successfully 9 out of 10 times...

I use the pedal method quite often, works great. Stop watch is key. As a matter of fact, I am due.

Re: 2004 AT Sedan ECU Reset

I have an 04 G35x and can't get it to work even with the watch. In fact.....I'm going out to try it now. Last time I tried I got fed up and did the battery disconnect.

If it's a G it's 4 me!

Re: 2004 AT Sedan ECU Reset

I'm confused...How often do you guys have to do this? And why the hell isn't ALL the power there ALL the time? Is there some type of proven dyno testing that shows the difference in numbers? Any further guidance into this matter would be greatly appreciated...

Re: 2004 AT Sedan ECU Reset

G35Tuning...i hear you on that one. The only time i reset my ecu was after the break-in period. I'm not sure why people keep resetting it, as if it makes a HUGE difference in power and response.

Re: 2004 AT Sedan ECU Reset

I was under the assumption that it should only be done after break in and after any performance type mods (i.e. Z-tube install).

Doing it on a "scheduled" basis will do what? Maybe its for those who drive their cars aggressively ALL the time?

Re: 2004 AT Sedan ECU Reset

I got it on the first shot yesterday after a short drive. I also had all of the accessories turned off. Don't know if that made the difference.

Good luck!
