RevUp question

I just got done searching but couldnt find exactly what i wanted to know... this is a supernoob question and im sure this wont be the last i ask but how can i tell if my car is a revup model and what exactly is it and what does it do? Im sorry for the dumb question.. i have a 06 6mt coupe

'05 g35's and up (6mt only). Engines revs higher, more peak hp, i think a little loss of torque.

^05 and 06...yes. also your dash will have "rev" between the tach and speedo.

I wonder if there is a way to remove that REV from dashboard?
It just looks ridiculous and doesn't make much sense to anyone but the owner. Maybe they should have incorporated something else..

The REV stays on. Why do you think it looks ridiculous?

Do you have your shift light set?

you can also tell a revup by looking at the front timing cover. the revup has bigger covers for the cam timing gears. the regular VQ's timing gear covers are shaped like sideways snow cones.

05-07 6MT G's have a shift light/rev light

on the odometer, push that little black thing on it, it will say miles and such,until you reach the the Rev limiter one , set it to whatever you like ......i set mine to 6300
