We've been so busy, and havent had a chance to share our latest baseline results with the new G37 Coupe we aquired two weeks ago. The plan for this car is forced induction, naturally, but we wanted to get a baseline before starting to tear apart the car.

First off, I think the car looks much better in person, and although the rear is questionable to some, it really is starting to grow on me.

So far, we've added a set of Volk GT-F's, and a set of lower springs. More to come later. Compared to what we are used to tuning, the car is slow, but handles much better than a stock G35 or stock 350z.

Here are the dynos, and I will be posting some pics of the car shortly. For reference, a bone stock G35 Coupe just did 213whp on our dyno today. The heartbreaker strikes again! Add about 10-12% to simulate a dyno jet number.

So far, black is the only color I like the G37 in.

Thought I'd prefer the GT-F with the Black Diamond Cut. It'd give a nice accent to it.

Nice, but still not feeling g37. Not just saying that b/c I have a 35. They killed the sound of the stock exhaust in the 37. IMHO the new sedans look better.

 

The stock exhaust is FAR more restrictive than last year's G and Z. Leaves plenty of room on the table for more power, and better sound. I have always liked nicely modded G35's, and it will certainly take more time for the G37 to grow on everyone....but I think it eventually will.

Nice power curve again, smooth and grandma wont even notice until she glances at the speedo or the other cars whipping by.

 

you expect any of the work you are planning on doing to be compatible with the vq35hr for the sedan owners or 350z owners?

 

The G37 engine shares the same block, trans, and ECU as the 07 350z, so I would expect a lot of commonality between the two platforms, including the 07+ G35 sedan.

 

woooow... the drop on the 37 makes all the difference in the world!
