Need some help with A/C

OK, its getting cold here in NY at night, and when i put on my heater to blow hot air, only cold comes out. I put it on 90F and it ONLY gets hot if i stay on the gas. THe minute i let off the gas, or come to a stop light, it goes back to freezing cold. I just recently added more coolant today, but i have ran it for 30 minutes(thought that would be plenty to get the fluid going). Any suggestions? I did some searching, but nothing came up.

BTW, its an 03 coupe with every option, if that helps. The only mod i have done is an intake, but it was atleast 9 months ago, and no problems with the heat last winter.

Does your temp gauge read low?

Did you recently drain your radiator?

I would suspect either there is air in the pump causing it to not pump any water which would in effect be overheating your engine even if the guage stays below H, or your thermostat is stuck open preventing the engine from getting hot enough to make much heat.

Is it actually getting hot when you floor it, or just warmer (A/C going off becuase of WOT) If it is just warmer it could be a stuck flapper in the A/C

I havent drained it recently. It was low, so i added some coolant, but that is it. I read a post about someone parking on a hill and letting the bubbles out that way, but i have no idea what they are talking about. It gets WARMER when i get on the gas, probably anything above 2k rpms. I havent gone WOT with it, while holding my hand on the heater, because i didnt think that would be safe, haha. THe temperature gauge seems to be working fine. It starts off in the cold position, and then as the engine gets warmer it goes to the middle. I am assuming it works because its moving, haha. It never gets more than half way up. I am perplexed as far as anything else goes, what do i do?!!? ha

If you haven't done it already, it might be worth while doing a flush and fill of your coolant system. You'd have to bleed the air out of it to finish up, so that would eliminate the possiblility of air-lock.

Good preventive maintenance every 2 years at minimum regardless, and it might clear your problem.
