Exclamation Removing Resonator from OEM Exhaust...

A lot of people are doing this in the Acura forum and getting great results. I drive a 07 TL-S and have done this myself.
After removing my mid-muffler (replaced with a straight pipe) and replacing my stock resonator with a dynomax one, my exhaust note changed a LOT.
My girl with a 05 G35 really likes how my sound changed and was wondering if she could do the same. What do you guys think?

I searched HUMMER2 and theres no such member. Theres HUMMER22 and HUMMER24. Anywayz, the youtube videos didnt help much.
What are the most popular options to get this done? Replace the resonator with a regular straight pipe?

Dont do it, I did that a month ago and it sounds raspy. You will hate it. I rewelded the resonator back on. If you are going to do it do it right, I made the mistake.

i think you can replace the stock resonator with an aftermarket one to get a nice change in tone. the aftermarke should either be shorter or more free flowing...not sure though. i HATED how my kinetix cats sounded with my exhaust. i have intake, spacer, headers, then the kinetix cats and the oem exhaust. i got this nasty metal on metal sound from around the y pipe...something bout the y pipe not being able to handle the increased air flow. anyone got a good fix for this? i was thinking of just taking out the flex portions but its my understanding that they are necessary..

you try upgrading your ypipe? i have heard couple people say with headers + only kinetix cats its sounds nasty, you can only have one or the other. never heard anyone with any other brand complain

yeah im gonna try out crawford and hopefully it will cure the nasty sound. would an upgraded y really help? ive heard that aftermarket y's actually hurt our cars so i wanted to stay away from that...i was thinking of just welding in newer flex joints or something like that
