G 35 engine oil

I have a 2003 g-35 sedan, automatic. i purchased the car with 5100 miles and now have about 7k on it. The oil was changed since i owned it on 12/30. The oil looked very dark almost black. If the previous owner used synthetic oil would the color of synthetic oil be dark brown?

Thanks

Re: G 35 engine oil

Dirt tends to turn them all black pretty quickly.
