"They say when it goes off, to slow down to the speedlimit and then shut it off so the cop can get a reading on you so it's not to suspicious."

Good call on that, never would've thought of that myself.

started off a lil messy (too much duct tape and junk), but definately turned out great! nice man. since it's right there by the grille, i'm assuming it wont be damaged by the rain? why not put it under your front lip or inside the bumper where the screen is at.

all the tape was to protect the paint and grill from getting scratched during the cutting and install process. I've done this type of thing several times before and it's a good precautionary measure, it's so easy to slip and scratch things up. The units are completly weather proof, sealed in epoxy so water is not a concern. under the bumper or in the screen area is too low, you ideally want it up near the headlights. if they don't get a signal shooting the plate they'll aim for the headlights. it might look better down there, but it works best in the upper grill.

yeah, that's why doing it this way is bad, b/c it's visible. if there were a way to stealth it however, that'd be a different story

i mounted mine behind the grille, kinda flush up against it, in the open spaces, on each side. made some "custom brackets"...lol

it actually has a very good field of vision that way too, and it is very stealth. you can't see them at all, unless you get down and look into the grille. it has saved my butt many times from laser. more than a dozen and so far they are still operational after being in the car for about 2 years now. i do not know if i lose any detection range from my mounting position, but i do know they work there.......

Pardon my ignorance... which part of canada allows you the use of Laser Jammer?... to what I know, most states in US allow the use of Laser Detector, not Jammer

Here is some pics of a Escort ZR3 shifters installed pretty stealthy. The nice thing about the Escort ZR3 is that it links up with my Escort 8500 X50. The 8500 X50 controls everything. When I get hit by a laser it jams it which allows me to slow down and then I hit the mute button and it allows the officer to capture my speed. It is fully functional and never had any problems of it not jamming when it needed to. Had to install it this why since it is illegal in my state (CA).

Canadian laws prohibit radar jammers because they require a licensed transmitter. A laser jammer is just a beefed up laser pointer which is not regulated.
