Taking G in for oil consumption - no records.

My car is still under warranty and I am taking it in for oil consumption on Saturday. Since I do all my own work I dont have records. Advance auto may have my filter purchases on record.

Has anyone else delt with the dealer in this situation without having oil change records? Were you successful and what did you do?

Also, are the dealers doing anything about the throwout bearing noise that seems to be common?

Have you documented it in any way? Keeping receipts for the oil, keeping a log book with entries filled in (dates, mileage) for when you changed oil?

If not, make up something in a spreadsheet.

No, I havent kept any records. I always just keep track in my head of when the last time I changed the oil was.
I have only had it for the last 10,000 miles, so I would only have a few records anyway.
Would they buy something like a spreadsheet?

They'd want receipts showing you purchased atleast 5qt's of oil and a filter.

Happened to a guy here on the forums, they wanted atleast 3 receipts of purchasing the products (obviously you wouldnt need 3 as you havent gone enough miles to warrant 3 oil changes)

Semi-unrelated question, but if I were to buy a used G and ended up having OC issues, will they refuse to help me w/o any records? I was looking at a used '05 that is still under warranty because I thought that would cover me on the OC issue, but now I'm not so sure. Ugh.
