I was wondering if anyone knows if you disconnect the battery does it reset the ECU...I had a problem with my 99 vette once where the computer tripped out and by disconnecting the battery it reset the system so what i want to know is if you make mods on your car an disconnect the battery will the ecu run according the to level of the mods??? I don tknow if this is a dumb question but i had to ask>>

you can just remove the ECU fuses in the engine compartment by the battery (15A) and the drivers side kick panel fuse block (10A). wait 3 min, crank the engine, wait 3 min, replace fuse and your're good to go.

 

There is a was to reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery but you will lose things like your radio stations programed, if you care. Unless you do it the way described above hitting the gas brake, etc.
