What's the most horsepower I could get out of stroking my engine without killing the transmission?

depends on the year, but it won't hold much past 330-350 tq...but why waste your money on a stroker? just get a supercharger and call it a day...

I thought stroker kits were more reliable than superchargers...

And only 330 to 350? Is there a way to make the automatic transmission stronger?

its not about how much power you can put through it... it is about how cool you can keep it... i put through 500 horses on my auto mk3 supra... just slap a huge cooler on it and it should be good through 4-500 horses just dont expect it to last though

Look into a torque converter and a valve body upgrade...this will allow you to put down some more power.

that would be a negative...you obviously don't know this tranny too well....i had a cooler on my second 5AT tranny and it didn't last past 500miles with 400tq

...there are always exceptions to the rule and it will vary from tranny to tranny, but putting a cooler on it isn't going to make it last that much longer. You'll need a lot more upgrades to make it last past 400tq.

What all did you have done to your tranny? I want to build a bullet proof tranny.

SGP fully built

Just so everyone else can read it and they don't have to go read up. What does fully built mean? What did you exactly have done?

there is only one "built" package from SGP. It includes clutch packs, bands, VB, etc...TQ converter is extra. If you would like to know the specifics of what is replaced internally you should call SGP.

I have never seen a clutch pack, but how do they upgrade them and who makes them?

They replace them and add 2 more I think, but I don't remember so don't quote me. Like I said, you should call SGP and ask for Thomas. He will explain what they do to an extent, as to not give away too much

So not only would I need a performance torque converter, but I'd also need a valve body?

id like to know what exactly gets done as well... ive been looking into this alot
