Help! My dad put some extra oil into my g35 due to a long road trip we were taking without telling me. Either he spilled some or he overfilled (or both). Anyways now everywhere I go the car smells like burning oil. I have put almost 800 miles on it and it is still burning oil somewhere. I even see small amounts of smoke after a long drive. How can I fix this?

Just check your level now and make sure it is at the correct level. Remove oil if necessary. The burning smell is probably oil on your exhaust burning off. It will go away. No big deal.
id remove oil befor you blow you gaskets!!!!do this...NOW..if theres alot of extra oil the pressure will cause blown gaskets..easy fix...just take some out or rechange your oil and put the right amount in

^very true...you're going to cause a very expensive problem if you already haven't. also, many cars run sluggish when they are overfilled with oil.
How can I check for blown gaskets? If I can't do this how much would something like this cost?

take it to the dealer and ask them to check for you. make sure your oil level is where it is supposed to be before you take it in.
Can I trust the dealer to not lie to me and want to replace gaskets that are good to go. I take it these are the head gaskets?

Is oil leaking on the ground or around the engine block? If not, then your gasket seals are fine.
If you are too high on the dipstick, drain and refill the right amount.
Otherwise, oil spilled onto the exhaust components will burn off eventually...

well, some leaks will only do so when there is pressure in the system. if you have a leak and are smelling burning oil, the leak may be above an exhaust piece and not drip on the ground.
if you need a reference to a good infiniti service dept., ask the guys one here about the dealers in your area. if you are out of warranty, go to a trusted local shop. look one up online on a customer satisfacton site or local bbb.
