P0430 Error Code

Tonight I had a service engine light come up. I checked the error and it was a P0430 code. This came out as P0430 TW Catalyst System, Bank 2. What does this mean and how can I fix it? Thank you.

Wow, that one is a bit of a monster to diagnose...
P0430 Error Code-p0430.jpg
The service manual says to check: exhaust system, exhaust gas leaks, intake air leak, ignition timing, injector voltages, ignition spark and injector leaks. Any one of those could cause the code. I assume you cleared to code and it came back (clearing the code is always your first step to see if the problem is intermittent.) The O2 sensors are not on the list of possible causes. The O2 sensors have a complete diagnostic routine of their own.

I have no mods but the car does have over 100k miles on it. I have filled my tank since and the code came up today again.

What page of the factory service manual is that from? I am thinking of taking this to the dealer to find out the problem and then fixing it on my own. I was going to replace the spark plugs this weekend so that would check the ignition spark. Everything is pretty tip top on this car. I just drove it across country and this is the first time anything like this has happened. I am also getting a little burning oil smell from the car too so maybe these are related. I have a shop that does great work on nissans for great prices but maybe I should go to the dealer for a diagnosis. I am worried here although this code does not seem like it would make the car undrivable. I will have to look at the car some this weekend when I have time. Any other advice would be great. I have looked all over google and nobody with a g35 seems to have this problem.

Service Manual Page EC-343.
I think I would go to the dealer for this one. They are probably familiar with it and would likely get to the problem faster, but this problem is not in the "Quick to Diagnose" category at all.
