Unhappy HELP! I just spilled diet coke on my manual transmission

I just spilled diet coke all over while I was driving! and a lot of it got soaked through the gaps into the transmission.
would it damage the transmission? Is there anything I can do?

yup the carbon dioxide in the soda is going to erode all your metal parts severely, eventually causing failure of the tranny.
