I think this should be in the engine section and not in the sedan and coupe sections. Someone cut/paste the post and pictures.

Nissan OEM Oil filters....?

Thanks for the heads up, I've never used OEM Nissan filters and now I understand why. Like most of us that really care about our cars I use K&N
oil filters along with synthetic oil (Red Line) and change it more frequently than Nissan advises.

Don't get to hung up on oil filters as I've used oem Nissan filters on my 318,000 mile 90Q for the past 18.4 years [except 2 M1 and 1 Pure 1] the other 80 were oem Nissan.

If you follow oem recommendations to change oil every 90 days or 3,750 miles to maximize engine longevity the oem is fantastic.

The tiny oem sump means frequent changes even with synthetics so why bother except in the 90 day winter period or extreme desert heat locations.

All of our fleet of high mile Q and LS400 [some have reach 420,000+] use the oem filters
