Hey Thang, speak for yourself. You are the first I've heard of that didn't notice a diff. I have heard at least 40 ppl who said they noticed a diff. Did you go with Gord's?

The grounding wires remind me of the famous Smellovision prank. I don't remember the details exactly but the jist of it was they came on and said that an amazing new breakthrough allowed them to transmit smell over the airwaves and hundreds of people called in claiming they could smell things over the television.

I don't know about performance gains, but based on my fueling records (I keep track of MPG for each refuel), I'm seeing a roughly 1MPG gain in fuel economy since installing a 6 wire grounding kit. The MPG is taken from both the Navigation system and my own calculations based on miles driven and gallons added. I used to get about 18-19 MPG consistently. Since adding the grounding kit I've gotten right around 20 MPG. That's over 10 tanks of gas since the install so I think it's a consistent gain. Once my wife gets her FX35, I'll probably get a grounding kit for it and see if it has similar effects.

My first GroundingGear™ FX 35 kit was installed by a user in CT in July-03. He reports similar benefits to that as for the G and Z.

InfinitiTech, while I'm not so sure that a grounding kit is all that helpful either (I made and installed my own), I do know that you can't just say a ground is a ground.
These aren't digital voltages, due to resistance, a ground farther away from a battery will be of higher voltage than a ground near the battery, depending on the amount of current that flows through it.
If there's no current, then yeah, the ground will settle to all be equal, but if there's any current, then there goes that idea.

randy_g, there may some who swear that they noticed a difference, but there have been many (myself included) who have posted no noticeable differences. i know i'm not the first. as far as those who swear by it, the mind can play tricks on you. when i first installed the grounding kit, i noticed that my a/c was so much stronger. i later discovered that my wife had closed the vents on the passenger side!!!!
gx9901, the better fuel economy is due to the ecu chip. try resetting it as many has and the fuel economy will decrease again. it has nothing to do with the grounding kit. i made the same assumptions as yourself. however, every so often when i reset the ecu, my fuel economy goes from about 22-23 mpg to 19-20 again.
as i have posted in the past, it appears to me that when the grounding kits first came out, those swearing by it appear to all be selling them as well. the others just "felt" a difference which can easily be explained as psychosomatic. however, for those who still want to purchase it, go right on ahead....it's your money. i'm just giving my two cents to those who haven't yet.
p.s. i also have some special racing stickers that have been proven by dynos to increase power by an avg of 5-6 hp. i'm selling them for only $49.99 per set. it's the best mod - bang for the buck - out there. as i quote from eddie murphy " what a bargain!!!" : )

I agree with Thang. Measure your ground at your battery and at your MAF. If your MAF is significantly off, a ground might help. The MAF is the component most senstitive to ground loops. Corrosion will exacerbate this. I doubt a 1 or 2 year old car will have corrosion, but who knows.
What happens is the ECU is expecting a signal about air in weight and if the MAF is sending an erroneous signal due to a bad ground, the ECU will deliver an improper amount of fuel. Depending on the error the MAF sends (it should send errors both ways...too much air, not enough air) the ECU will tell the injectors to send too much or too little fuel. Thus, a better ground at the MAF will only correct this.
Of course, if the MAF was sending a false signal that made LESS fuel sent, you would benefit from increased HP and better mileage because you would be running more lean! The G is already too rich, and it was designed this way for better cooling and longevity. However correcting an erroneous signal to the ECU should only normalize an otherwise randomly erroneous signal. Save your money and invest it in a multi-meter and test your grounds, particularly at the MAF.
