24 - 26 with no BMWs, Mustangs, Subbies, Acura's, Toyotas, Hondas, or wanna be lexus' around.

~ or 13 - 16 with a lead foot and some mods that growl.

Re: gas milege

The best I ever got 99% highway was 21 from Portland to Seattle to get service and back. Average speeds were 65-80. In mostly city driving, I probably averaged 14-15.

Re: gas milege

i dunno about you guys, but i have navigation. what this allows me to do is view my gas consumption in real time. so when i am driving on the highway or local roads and i am just cruising, i lift off the gas pedal just enough to give me at least 25/mpg.

it helps a lot because you just don't realize how much gas is being consumed with the slightest touch of the pedal.

Re: gas milege

I don't do much highway driving, but I recently had to travel from one side of town to the other and got 150 miles on the last 1/4 of gas. It was right on the last 1/4 marker and I drove it until the needle was just below the empty line. That comes out to 30 mpg if you assume 5 gallons for the last 1/4 marker.

Re: gas milege

one more point i noticed...the g35 seems to be calculating the gas mileage on my car according to a 18 gallon tank. the 2 gallons might be "safety" gallons. whenever i fill up, it shows 360 miles remaining when i avg. 20mpg. so, maybe you guys are actually getting better mileage than stated.

Re: gas milege

I'm a little upset with my mileage. I have a Coupe w/auto 5-speed.

I've only had the car a couple of weeks, but I'm driving very conservatively and getting 20 mpg. The specs on Infiniti's website say the car should do 18/26. I do a lot of highway driving and I'm at 20??

I had a BMW 325i prior the the G35. That car was rated 20/29, and I was getting 26mpg all the time.

I expected to lose some mpg with the Infiniti, but had hoped to keep the actual close to 23-24mpg. Maybe that's not realistic.
Maybe the mileage will improve slightly after the engine wears a little?
Thoughts?

Re: gas milege

Yes everyone have similar experience if they have a 5AT.

I typically get 15-16mpg city and 21mpg hwy only.

I think 18/26mpg applies for the 6MT only.

Re: gas milege

No, Infiniti lists mileage for the 5-speed at 18/26, and the 6-speed at 20/27.
It just seems that they were optimistic at best, if not downright misleading.
I may be speaking too soon. I'll give the car a few thousand miles and an oil change before it bugs me, but still. . .the BMW 3-series numbers seemed much closer to the truth.

Re: gas milege

Mine has 23k and still quite low mpg my friend has the same exact car even the color is same (if that makes a difference) with 3k and still similar mpg of 16/21.

You should not expect it to go any higher if you already have over 2k miles

I drove from Houston to Pflugerville (just north of Austin)
today and then back. I bought mbarrad's HKS rear section
exhaust. I logged 23.7 mpg for over 400 miles. Thats
pretty good for me!
