If nissan had made the Z's and G's with a motor that could withstand upwords 600whp on a stock block then we might be talking, but they didn't.

Anyways, keep us updated! I had a guy that was going to do this for me, but it required taking my car out of state and i didn't want to do this. If anything goes wrong with the car then i have no idea how to fix it and neither does anyone else. I would have to drive/tow it back up to him. I desided against it.

they have done this with the new g37 motor.. gtm tests on stock block prove that thing can handle well over 500whp...

Yes, you are right. I should have stated i was talking about the vq35de (rev up and non rev up motor).

2JZ iron block is HEVVY! But, you're probably right that not many OEM manufacturers will make stock blocks able to withstand the abuse that the 2JZ can handle. But, for the price of the complete swap (ECU, Block, supporting junk) you can EASILY build a VQ block (rod and pistons) and boost the snell out of it.

Personally, I think people can do whatever they want to do. . .after all, it's their money, and their hobby.

And really, mildly speaking, the VQ is pretty cheap to the semi-biuld (bottom end).
I agree but IMHO the VQ35 needs another few years of trial/error before they figure out how to make it hold boost. The ew HR motors are shaping up to be pretty nice. I wonder if the short blocks are built diff or it's just the better heads/varible valve tech that allow it to make more hp/per lb boost?

Haev you seen any HR motors with boost yet? I have yet to come across one except the ones that the turbo companies own. I would love to see some numbers.

I think I saw a pic that shows the HR rods were beefier.
