HELP!! Throttle Not Working; Car is Fully Disabled

In desperate need of help at this point. Here is my situation:

I have a 2003 G35 Coupe 6MT no mods. It's my daily driver.
I drove home from work today and stopped at the grocery store. After I was finished shopping I came out to go home. I started the car, it started properly, but then when it came to idle the VDC, Slip, and Service Engine Soon lights came on. I thought that it could have been some kind of hiccup in the computer so I turned the car off. When I turned it back on, the same thing happened. It revs up during the start, but then when it comes back to idle all of those lights came on.

I tried to press on the throttle and there was no response. When I floor the pedal the RPMs go up from ~700 to ~1500 and does not go any higher. When trying to move the car it of course stalls.

I disconnected the battery to see if it was something with the computer, and after the reset I get the same symptoms. I then took the engine cover off and disconnected the intake hose to the throttle body. With the car on and hitting the gas the valve (not sure of technical term) doesn't move at all.

Any help is greatly appreciated as my car is stuck at the grocery store. If I can't resolve this in the next 24 hours I'm going to have to get the car towed to the dealership.

Since the service engine soon light is on there should be a code stored, what is that code?

The Service Engine Soon light throws a code?

I thought only the Check Engine Light throws a code?

Everything in the car throws a code.....

There are three different areas codes can be thrown - ECU, BCM, and ABS/VDC.

Anytime any of these things detects something wrong it will store a code. These codes may or may not lead you to the issue at hand.

For example, last Sunday we had a similar issue, although we had 0 throttle response. The ECU threw 7 throttle body codes. We diagnosed the throttle body for an hour or so and couldn't find anything wrong with it. We then discovered that the fuel pump wasn't working. Got the pump going and the throttle body started working fine. I still have no idea why there were 7 throttle body codes when the real issue was the fact that there was no fuel pressure....

Cool!

Thanks for the responses guys. I think I'm going to try this first:

And if no luck then I'll have it towed to the dealership. I have an extended warranty through Infiniti so it's fully covered (towing that is).

Also, I don't have immediate access to a code reader so I don't think I'll be able to pull the codes.

I just realized that I never responded to this thread.

The night of my last post, I went to the grocery store with the intent to clean the throttle body right there in the parking lot. Thank god I decided to give it one last chance and it started up and worked just fine. I drove it home without and problems and worked on it the next day.

The next day I got the throttle body off and found that there was carbon build up everywhere. I fully cleaned off the entire throttle body and valve and reinstalled it. I then reset the closed valve position.

Viola!!! It works perfectly fine, and what seems better than before. Things have worked fine the past 2 months without and problems :knocksonwood:

I still have the Service Engine Soon light on, but haven't had a chance, nor have I been pressed on getting the code pulled.

Anyway, thanks for the help you guys provided!
