rear brakes / drive belts gone after 44km?

I was at my stealership this morning for an oil change (its free so why not).
The technician came in and told me that my '06 G coupe has only 10-5% left
on the rear brake pads. Front has 60% left. Is this normal? I don't race or drive it like I stole it. My wrx only needed brake pad change after 80,000km so I am a bit dissappointed since I only hv 44,000km on my G. I bought it new.

Also, the drive belts need replacement. Is this also normal?

I got the car fr less than 2 years so shouldn't Infiniti cover this?

Brake pads shuld be gone in the back around that time. They are SUPER thin in the back, the fronts are not so bad. The belts though havent been so bad on you. I had to tighten my tensioner about 2 days ago because it was squeaking in the morning startups. Belts are bad quality i guess??? BTW i have 14k on my 05

Tks fr the reply.

But what I don't understand is how the rear pads wear out much faster than the fronts. When u break, most of the load is in the front brakes, correct?
Therefore usually front pads wear out faster than rear ones I assume. Could
this be a manufacturer's defect? Is it normal that my front pads hv 60% left but the rears only hv 5%? Can somebody verfiy this?

if anything the fronts should be fairly low also. at that mileage its normal for both rear and front pads to be almost gone. tell the tech to measure the lowest pad on both front and rear in mm. good rule of thumb is 2-3mm on the lowest pad means it needs to be replaced. 4mm and up means you still got some life left in them. theres no way he can tell you what % it is unless he knows exactly how thick they are from factory. the belts usually dont go bad that early. if anything, its gonna be a defect in which case it should be covered under warranty. its probably slow so theyre trying to generate some hours. its the same at the dealer i work at but we try to warranty everything so theres no customer pay.

Rear brakes provide TCS function so they wear faster than front if you are getting higher than design number of TCS applications [driving style].

Thanks for the replies.

I guess I am not used to changing my brakes that early. How much should I expect? The dealership wanted $370 (CDN) just to change the rear brake pads??? Might try Midas since they charge $180 with lifetime garantee.
