It was around $70 US. Gordon may have raised his prices...

Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

Question for all those people who installed the grounding kits:

How long did it take to install the kit? I just got the 7 + 1 Grounding Gear kit plus I also got the grounding cables for the TCU and ECU for my 04G35C AT5 and wanted to know how long this would take to install.

Thanks

Korz,

Gordon Gee is gordgee, one of the moderators of this site and
maker of GroundingGear Hypergrounding wires specifically
made for our G35s.

Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

Homeydog97,
I would suspect it would take around three hours or more to
install all the wires. The #7 wire to the tranny might be the
hardest. It took me around one plus hours to install the
TCU/ECU wires. The basic 6 wires should take one hour
or so, depending on your skill level. If you drop any of the
bolts into the engine bay, add another hour. HeHe
Be warned, don't let the bolts drop!

Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

Thanks for the information! I went the other day to the dealership and they told me 3 hours of labor. I said no way and then they kept dropping the labor time until we agreed on 1.5 hours plus if they go over it they are eating the additional cost. I think they want to see how the TCU and ECU wires work out.

Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

You are gonna have the Infiniti dealership install the wires?
Save yourself the money and do it yourself. I enjoyed installing
the set, with the exception of the #7 to the tranny!

Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

I'm not much of a mechanic plus if the dealership flugs it up they will fix there mistakes. This will probably be the only mod I let them do anyway.

Thanks for the info

Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

Korz,

My mistake...

Wire #6 should have said "Rear right of intake manafold to hold down bolt on airbox"

Thanks for catching the error...

Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

No, not to hold-down bolt on airbox. To the bolt on the front of
the strut tower! See my pics. Click on Cato and then look at
my Sedan. I have pics of all my ground points.

Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

Well I now have the Grounding Gear 10 wire kit installed. I'm not sure if resetting the ECU did this but I've noticed the car shifts alot better but the biggest difference to me is when I put it in the manual mode it shifts so much better!!! before the grounding kit was installed it seemed like most of the shifts took a second before it would shift and sometimes it seemed like it ignored shifts requests. I'm sure this will be asked but the shifts that where ignored would not have put it over the redline nor would the shift put the engine into too low of rpm range. I guess time will tell if its the ECU reset or grounding kit.

Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

Yes, I notice the same. I believe the ECU/TCU ground has
done wonders for the 5AT. I also don't think the TCU
reprogram will do much for us now. I also don't think Infiniti
will upgrade the TCU software for us with the tranny
responding so well. If we want the newest TCU program,
I think we will need to remove the ECU/TCU wires, as my
service advisor asked me to describe the problems I am
having, bring it in and have the tech drive it around. If they
drove it around right now, they would say "Wow, your 5AT
shifts GREAT!, So just what is your complaint?"

So where are your extra 4 grounding wires hooked up to?
