Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

As one of the other Beta tester for the add'l 8-10 wires (ecu and tcu have been on for 2 weeks now) I will say that the shifts are near perfect now. The MM mode is much more responsive and where my slight flick of the wrist used to be ignored at times, the tranny goes right where I tell it now without hesistation and the shifts are smoother and less clunky (downshifting). Upshifting is so crisp and exact when running her hard that I often think about how my car now DOES NOT lack the 3 series refinement, which they somehow dominate when it comes to the relationship between ones motor and tranny. The things i didnlt like about this tranny are now history and I love driving around in MM mode now.

This may be a controversial mod but those folks who are not into power mods and want to refine your auto - this is a good one. Hell even Infinititech has agreed that the idle is smoother and that to me is where driving around town and what not is much better and the throttle is much easier to dip into without the hurky jerkey that sometimes occurs.

Cheers

Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

There are factory grounds on both fender wells, one next to
the battery, one next to the brake fluid reservoir. There is a
massive factory ground next to the base of the windsheild
washer fluid reservoir. My fourth extra wire is probably just
for looks and bragging rites. It goes from the throttle body
back to an electrical something next to the oil filler cap.
See my sedan pics, I have pics of most of the wires posted.

Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

I had a lot of fun driving home this afternoon. The manual mode is so much fun now. I remember the first few times I tried it before the mod I wasn't impressed with the shift action. Well tonight will be the double blind study as my wife has no idea I've done anything to my car and she will be driving it tonight to one of her clubs. My wife drives the car pretty hard so hopefully she'll notice something.

homeydog97,

How did the wifey like the shifting. I bet she noticed it right
off the bat! Let us know.

Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

My wife is driving the car today but she never uses the manual shift so I'm not sure if she will notice. I notice the transmission is shifting in automatic mode or manual mode so much smoother now. I'll keep everyone posted. My next thing is to see if the gas mileage improves.

Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

What bolt do you use to connect to the tranny?

I looked at Ventural's picture and figured out the wires 7 +1 and the wires at the ECU. Just the 7 wire got me.

Also I could measure the lengths for 7 thru 10 but if you have them I would appreciate the help and would save me some time.

Any information would be very appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

See pics at HyperGrounding # 7 Wire and here is a pic of the ECU & TCU connected on a 2004 G35C. Sorry, I do not have the length of the wires.

Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

Thank you, that really helps. Now I got to see if I can fit and work around in there.

Thanks again.

Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

The #7 wire is the hardest on to install. It took me a while to
figure out where/how to install it to the tranny. It finally dawned
on me that Gordon's wire was so perfectly made in length that
it hung right next to the bolt to attach to. I don't have the
length of the wires. Gordon's wire set is the best!

Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

So are we gonna have two threads going, or maybe combine
them?

Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

I'm hoping the impressions posted on this thread are re-posted by the original members to the Monster Thread as a central resource.

It may be possible to combine the threads once we go to VBulletin, but that's in the near future.

Re: Hyper Ground Resource Thread

I dumped the contents of this thread into a single post in the other one.

*whew* Don't want to do that again.. making the forum accept it and not whack it to shreds was tricky.
