How much oil should an 07 coupe burn?

Is 3/4 of a quart every 3k miles normal for 6MT?

I don't think you should have any oil consumption, if your driving the car normally.

I would watch the consumption carefully. Note it with your dealership as well.
There is some problems with the rev up 6MT's concerning oil comsumption.

Make sure you document this. If the problem gets worse, you may have the engine replaced under warranty.

That's kind of why im asking. I've done the consumption testing. The car burned 6mm (1/4 of a quart) for the first 1k miles and then around the same for the second test. They stoped testing on it. So I was wondering if it's normal for our cars to burn 3/4 of a quart in 3k miles?

I have friends with LS1 Camaro's and they use about 2 qt of oil every 3k, and GM say's thats normal. To me it is not normal, but I guess they don't feel it is bad enough to do anything about it.

I have 87,440 on my 04 6MT and I have driven the hell out of it since I drove it off the lot...
Guess how much oil it burns between my 5000 mile Royal Purple oil change???

it burns NO READABLE AMOUNT OF OIL WHATSOEVER, the way it should be. I have no idea what Nissan could have done to the rev-up to make so many of them burn oil... Everyone I know who has a rev-up has told me that they do burn some oil, if even just a little, there is always a readable amount between changes...

6MT Coupe

Look at TSB chart to see if that consumption is acceptable or not. 2007 are only covered to mid year production and up to a certain VIN.
Somewhere in that thread think I posted TSB as a .pdf. It's currently on it's second revision now too.

Yes, it's acceptable. They did the testing and released it as not failing. But burning 90% of a qt every 3k miles seems a bit much. But like someone said, everyone they've talked to that has a rev-up engine burns oil.

The reason I brought this up is because on that TSB chart, my car has come back 1 mm and 0.5 mm away from no good from the 2 tests, respectively. So my car is border line. Part of me thinks the dealer is screwing with me because they don't want to deal with giving me a new engine.

They told me that if it was consuming oil they'd expect it to burn a lot more than it did the previous time.

I don't burn any oil at all on my '04 6MT with about 29.6K miles on it.

Definitely keep an eye on it, and hopefully some other people on here with the exact same year motor as you can come back and say that they don't burn oil.... that way you know for sure whether or not your car has a problem.
