Quote: I don't know the viable options, but I want to make my g35x much faster and powerful. More than just adding a supercharger, cause I doubt that will get me as fast as I can be. I still want it to be drivable like it is now, just option for much more speed and power. I am interested in learning to build an engine also, so this might be a hobby I'd start. Money is not the main concern, but needs to be reasonable.

-Do they make aftermarket reinforced VQ35DE engine blocks and parts?
-Can I buy an engine not made for my car, and use it? I know it has to have clearance, but will it work with the other parts even if I modify them?
-Can I build a GM engine and use it in my infiniti, parts are more available I think.
-Can I use a Q45 engine? My dad has a Q45 and it has 340 hp, so it would be a better start over a normal g35 engine if it is my only option.

I DONT want to be told to do this with a better car choice, because g35 is the coolest car to be fast with unless this is impossible, then give me a better choice. Discuss.

ok well my friend has a 69 chavelle with over 1000 horse power and it didn't cost him as much as a viper would cost, and he's gone through a few engines and an expensive controller

You wont gain much of either of those by hanging out in coupe section.

building a chevelle vs a g35 are two completely different realms. it has lets see 40 years of aftermarket support...i dont even know how many different motor combinations ETC. if you have the money to do something like this you wouldnt have bought a G35 in the first place....let alone a g35x. good luck on finding a drivetrain to handle even 600awd hp and not break something every time your at the track

Don't get me wrong, I've seen people mod the g35x exceptionally but why would you get that specific car with these set of goals in mind? I'm not saying its impossible, but if you want a car capable of those #'s you should have just got a different car. It is going to be tough finding a drivetrain to handle you 600 awd hp.. I would just say take your car to a reputable shop that you trust, tell them your plans and pay them for it. What you have set to do is going to require a lot of time and patience but G/L

i would trade mine in for a rear wheel coupe. Also, I completely paid my car loan off in 9 months, and now I have same cash flow in without making payments, so I can afford to atleast spend some money on this. my ideal case would be to have engine components I could buy and put together myself that would give me this horsepower, but have them more durable than a stock one. I want to learn this stuff by doing it as my background is in electronics and not mechanics.
