g35 Coupe - Humming Noise/Fuel Guage Problem
I have two issues with my Coupe at this time and I was wondering if someone out there may know of or had a similar issue. The first is the fuel guage. At times it is not accurate, what I mean is that I will fill up the car. Later that day after I go back in the car the guage will show a 1/2 tank. I park and start the car again later and all of a sudden the tank shows full. This does not always happen... only once an a while.
The second thing is recently I noticed that when I put the key to the on position (without the car running) I get a high pitch humming, the problem is I have no idea where it is coming from. I tested it in the garage where I could hear the noise but I was unable to pinpoint where it is coming from. I never noticed this before. Anyone have thishappening? I verified that the Fans were shut down.

Re: g35 Coupe - Humming Noise/Fuel Guage Problem
The humming is probably your fuel pump. I had the same problem/noise. You can make sure by lifting out the seat bottom in the back and listening over the 2 round 'lids'.
If this is the problem, take it back to the dealership and have them fix/replace them. If you have an inept dealership like me, get some dynamat and apply it over the area where the noise is coming from.
In terms of the fuel gauge, ours is not the most accurate. I've seen mine fluctuate a 1/3 of a tank, down and back up, in a 25 mile commute.
